Hey everyone! And by everyone I mean my 2 followers! I haven’t updated my blog in forever. But here are some shots I took while walking around downtown Brooklyn. Got a new camera for Christmas (Thanks Grandpa!) so I thought I would go test it out. Not going to lie…I felt like a total hipster taking pictures around the city.
Don’t worry I wont spoil anything! I hate when people think they aren’t spoiling the movie, and by saying something stupid, they ruin it all. This is just an overall review of the two movies.
My mother’s birthday is on the 18th, so she chose the first movie. Now, I’m not a huge fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so I was apprehensive about going but Michael Bay and the beautiful Megan
Fox eased my worries. The movie is about an hour and 40 mins long and you don’t see the turtles until about a hour and 30 minutes in, but hey, we have to build the story line right? The plot was pretty predictable and the CGI was….CGI. Overall the movie was pretty well made. If you are a huge TMNT fan, go see it. If you’re not a huge fan, skip it. RATING: 7/10
Luckily I got to choose the second movie. Lets be Cops was hilarious! I mean, one of the Wayans clan members is in it, so I assumed it would be funny. The two leading guys worked great with each other and the story line is solid. There were parts that made me scream in shock and parts that had me close to tears from laughing. The movie doesn’t feel too short and it doesn’t feel like it drags too long either. I recommend this movie for date night, girls night out, and even a solo night if you need a good laugh. RATING 9.5/10
There are so many TV shows out there, it’s hard to find time to watch them all. But the ones I do get to watch, there’s always one hot bad boy to swoon over. Here is a list of hot bad boys that I can’t help but fan girl over.
7. Jesse Pinkman; Breaking Bad
Jesse Pinkman, portrayed by Aaron Paul, is a delinquent that sells and does drugs. He soon teams up with his old high school teacher, Walter White, to make and sell meth. Later on in the show your views on him being a ‘bad boy’ might falter because of his strong emotions towards…well…everything. But he is the ultimate bad boy when it comes to disobeying the law and not following any type of structure.
6. Quinn; Leverage
Leverage is about 5 people with amazing skills, that help others that are stuck in dilemma’s that the court can’t help. Of course with a team like that, you need protection and that’s what Elliot is for. Quinn, played by Clayne Crawford, is Elliot’s dark side. They both have the same fighting skills but Quinn plays for whatever side pays him the most. His looks and bad boy demeanor make you forget about Elliot, and wish he was on the show more often.
Yes, I know what your thinking…a cartoon? She’s got to be kidding. I kid you not! Cartoons can be hot as well, especially if their voice and actions support it. Orochimaru is one of Naruto’s best bad guys and his long hair and soothing voice make him seem less evil and more attractive. And the way he calls girls “Dear” makes you swoon. His long tongue might make kissing interesting.
4.Ryan Hardy; The following
Ryan Hardy played by Kevin Bacon is a detective that has had about enough with Joe Carol the leading villain. Ryan’s snarky remarks, his ‘I could care less’ demeanor, and his feelings toward authority makes him one smoking hot bad boy. Even though he is the good guy in this drama, he isn’t a saint in anyone’s book, including his own.
3.Christian Troy; Nip Tuck
Where do I start with this guy? Christian Troy, portrayed by Julian McMahon, is a mentally destroyed plastic surgeon. He is the co-founder of a plastic surgery company and without his partner saving him from every mistake he makes, the company would be in deep shit. He has commitment issues which means he HAS to sleep every pretty woman he encounters. His charming advances towards woman, tick you off while turning you on.
2.Eric Northman; True Blood
Not sure if it’s the super speed sex or the domineering personality, but Eric Northman (Played by Alexander Skarsgård) is one sexy Vampire. I am a huge fan of Edward Cullen from twilight, but Eric is the TV-MA version. The way he is possessive with the main character Sookie, the way he commands his progeny Pam, and his disdain towards any human that gets in his way makes women weak in the knees. If only I could hop into the TV and let him turn me into a vampire, then I could serve him for all eternity.
The number one spot goes to this smoking hot bad boy Dean Winchester played by the sexy Jensen Ackles. Dean is a family man that will do anything and I mean ANYTHING to protect and save the ones he loves. Dean and his younger brother Sam hunt evil such as demons, vampires, and werewolves. He has been to Hell and back, literally, to protect humanity. He is a ladies man and classic rock junkie who loves to eat bacon cheeseburgers in local diners. And on top of all that, he is a goofball. His aggressiveness when killing and giving his younger brother a lecture makes your heart melt. Just don’t fall in love, because he will take off in the morning to save the world from destruction.
The New Museum held a block party this past Saturday, letting anyone that came have free admission. The block party itself wasn’t all that interesting. It had about 5 tables that all seemed like they were for ages 9 and under involving arts and crafts. If I was home alone I would partake in the activities but I’m not going to squeeze between two kids to glue printed pasterns on a cardboard box. Thank God my mother is a kindergarten teacher, so she lives for shit like that. While she was preoccupied taking crafts and stealing project ideas, I waited for the next music act to perform. Now, I don’t remember the hosts exact words, though I wish I recorded it, but he introduced the artist saying he was a mix of negro spirituals, classical, opera, and heavy metal. Three words came to my mind…wtf. And not only was his music style crazy, his wardrobe matched along with it. He wore all black, something that looked like a cape, long hair (I’m assuming a wig) And an eye patch….*sigh*
Soooo yea. I was hoping the actual museum would be something a bit better. The layout is really nice. And the macaroons are to die for (I recommend the orange which is caramel and the purple one…which I think was blueberry hazelnut) The exhibit was called “Here and Elsewhere” and was about the Arab world. Some were boring , and others were pretty amazing. The pictures above are some of my favorite pieces. And the view is the top floor where you can view the city from a scary height with a glass barrier.
I wouldn’t recommend paying to go see it, but they do have a great deal; anyone 18 & under is free, accompanied with an adult of course. Students get a discount.

1. Buying A Gym Membership Will Make You Go to the Gym:
Wrong!! I recently bought a gym membership to Planet Fitness. It’s a yearly contract so I assumed, with the love I have for my own money, I would go at least once a week. Nope. I haven’t been to the gym since….May. I think. I keep telling myself to go but the summer heat and the money it costs to get there, I just stay home.
2. Just Three Weeks and a Healthy Habit Sticks:
Wrong again!! I have eaten healthy, drank 8 cups of water a day, and worked out 4 times a week for a month. And after that I got tired of doing it and just stopped. I was doing so well! *cries*
3. Starting Your Day Off Healthy, Will Make You End It Healthy:
If I had some fruits in the morning and right proportioned salad for lunch, then I’m going to want a burger and fries for dinner. Do you know the proportions your supposed to have?? They say the size of your hand is a good proportion. More like the size of my hand is a good proportion to put on my spoon.
4. Make Working Out Fun, And You’ll Enjoy It:
I bought the connect for Xbox, and a bunch of sports and dancing games. I’ve played it like four times. And after 15 minutes I’m done.
5. Power Foods Curve Mid-Day Hunger:
Oh I wish. I will have power foods for breakfast but I’m still ravenous by lunch time.
On a lighter note…
This isn’t to discourage people from trying these tips, because everyone is different and these might work for you. This is just to shine a light on the fact that these don’t work for everyone. You have to find your own tips and tricks that help you on the road to a healthy lifestyle. I’m still working on mine, as you can see. So just hang in there! I feel your pain.

Yesterday I went to go see 8 Ecstasies by David Brody and it was pretty awesome. It was simple but intense. The room was dark and what looked like bubble rap rolled up was placed around the room as chairs. That same materiel was draped around the room. There was a short movie that ran for about 10 minutes which showed geometric shapes moving around with different sound effects. I loved this so much that I stayed to watch it twice. It was so calming watching the shapes take different forms while the sounds complimented them perfectly. When the movie was over , a huge shape in the air lit up while another movie projected on a wall across the room. David was very humble and sincere when thanking me for coming.

I sometimes overhear people saying they hate to read or it’s hard to find a book that interests them. But what if they just need the right book to read. I personally struggle with reading myself, which makes being a college student even harder than it already is. I get headaches when I read too much. This can range from a few paragraphs to a few pages and on a bad day, a few sentences. I have stacks of books in my house that I have started but haven’t finished. The books that I have finished, I had to force myself to read them and it still takes months to finish.
I thought my struggle was related to the length of the books, so I started to look for really short books. But in the end, it was the same situation. I wouldn’t finish the book or it would take forever to finish. I was frustrated with myself and gave up on reading all together. Until, one day, I stumbled upon a book that changed my reading situation forever.
1. Seriously…I’m Kidding by Ellen DeGeneres
Now, if you’re not a huge fan of Ellen then this might not be the best book for you but I recommend it anyway. This book is funny from cover to cover and even the back description makes you laugh. What about this book will make you like reading? It’s broken into paragraphs. Each paragraph is a new joke making reading a lot less strenuous. Because each joke is over so quick, you are more inclined to move on to the next one. Especially when a joke makes you lol, the pages turn and before you know it, its over. *If you enjoy this, Ellen has two more book published before this with the same set up.
2. Seinlanguage by Jerry Seinfeld
This book has the same set up as ‘Seriously…I’m Kidding’ but with Jerry’s style of comedy. If you like Seinfeld, then this book is for you. It has Jerry’s classic “Whats up with that?” type of jokes typed up in a portable book. This book actually made me laugh out loud…in public.
3. The Book of Totally Useless Information by Don Voorhees
I found this book last week in the bargain section in Barnes & Noble; Score! I am currently reading this book so I don’t have a full review. This book has the same set up as the first two but its jam packed with awesome information. It has all those question that you think to yourself but never research. One of my favorite questions so far is “Why aren’t keyboards in alphabetical order.” Enjoy being pretentious around friends by spewing out all the info you learn from this book.
The way these books are set up, helps the reader view the book as less daunting. And because of that, helps them finish the book. I’m not saying all my reading struggles flew out the window and I finished these books in one day, but this writing layout helped me read more and faster. Giving this advice on Wordpress might seem like an oxymoron but this isn’t only directed to people that don’t read. If you know someone that has this struggle, then suggest these books and if they are in a good mood, this post.
